Each room includes a private balcony overlooking the ocean, the beach, the pool, the palm trees and the sunrise. Interiors are built from reclaimed Dhow wood (fisherman’s old boat wood), with linen curtains, woven details, and hand-crafted local design.
Expect natural light and a refreshing ocean breeze every morning. A blend of comfort and sustainability, where modern convenience meets local tradition, and where upcycled materials are given new life with care and intention.

Whether you’re a couple, a solo traveler, or part of a group, we are ready to host you in a setting that combines privacy, comfort, and connection. All our beds are prepared as king-size (180×200 cm), but they can be converted into twin beds on request — ideal for friends traveling together, retreats, or group getaways. We can also host full-group stays with up to 20 guests — including exclusive use of the entire lodge, tailored to your needs.
All rooms share the same design and features — the only difference is their size.
We offer three categories of rooms:
- 4 Cozy Rooms – approx. 15–18 m²
- 4 Spacious Rooms – approx. 20–25 m²
- 2 Premium Rooms – approx. 27–32 m²

• 29 to 21 days before arrival — 50% charge of the total stay.

• 14 days before arrival or no-show — 100% charge of the total stay.

Yes. Every room at Tangawizi Lodge offers an ocean view. The categories differ mainly in size and layout, not in the experience of waking up close to the sea.

We offer three room categories: Cozy, Spacious and Premium. All rooms are designed for two adults and combine natural textures, handcrafted details and tropical comfort.
Can I book directly through the hotel?
Yes — and we highly recommend it. Direct booking gives you the best communication, personalized assistance and access to special offers, excursions and upgrades.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. Breakfast is included in every stay and served in our main restaurant surrounded by tropical greenery and ocean breeze.
Do you provide airport transfers?
Yes. We can organize private airport transfers directly to the hotel, so your Zanzibar experience begins stress-free from the very first moment.

Absolutely. Zanzibar is full of incredible vegetables, fruits, coconut, spices and plant-based flavors — and our vegan menu is rich, colorful and far from boring.
Do you serve seafood?
Yes. Fresh fish and seafood are an important part of our menu. We work with local ingredients and seasonal products whenever possible.
Do you serve sushi?

Tangawizi Lodge works with a team of six talented chefs, each bringing different skills, flavors and ideas into the kitchen. Food here is not an afterthought — it is part of the experience.
Do you use local Zanzibar ingredients?
As much as possible. Coconut, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, tropical fruits, local herbs and fresh seafood are deeply present in our cuisine and cocktails.
